Colquitt EMC mailed ballots on September 25, 2026. After the mailing, we discovered that an administrative error caused some members to receive a ballot for the wrong district. We have corrected the district information in our records. Therefore, none of the ballots mailed on September 25, 2026, will be counted, even if the ballot was correct and has already been returned.
To ensure a fair election, a replacement ballot will mail out on Friday, October 9, 2026, to the voting districts (Berrien and Cook counties). The envelopes are marked with a red box with red text stating “Official Replacement Ballot Voting Instructions Enclosed.” Only replacement ballots will be counted so that each eligible membership has one vote in the correct district. For your vote to be counted, please complete and return the ballot marked “Second Ballot: Only This Ballot Will Be Counted.” Please discard the ballot mailed on September 25, 2026, and do not return it. The replacement ballot must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2026. Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted. Election results will be announced at the Colquitt EMC Annual Meeting.
The 90th Annual Meeting of Members of the Colquitt Electric Membership Corporation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Spence Field, the site of the Sunbelt Expo, in Moultrie, Georgia. Registration will be open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The date, location and drive-through format remain unchanged.
Included with the replacement ballots are a three-part Registration/Acknowledgement Card, a map to assist you in locating Spence Field in Moultrie, and a guide showing the correct driving routes within the Spence Field site. Please enter and exit Spence Field area as directed on the enclosed map. Colquitt EMC personnel will be stationed along these routes to assist you. If you attend the Annual Meeting, please remain in your vehicle, follow the posted route, and bring both parts of the card to help you move through the registration line with minimal delay.
In Summary:
- Some members received the wrong ballot due to an administrative error. That error has been corrected.
- Ballots mailed on September 25, 2026, will not be counted. Please discard them if you have not already returned them to Colquitt EMC.
- New ballots will mail out on October 9, 2026, and are due back to Colquitt EMC by 5:00 PM on October 30, 2026. The new ballots are mailed in an envelope marked with a red box with red text stating “Official Replacement Ballot Voting Instructions Enclosed.”
- Election results will be announced at the Colquitt EMC Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
