Update – May 8, 2023
Last week we experienced electrical service disruptions in Northern Lowndes County. Although the disruptions have subsided, Georgia Transmission Corporation is working to understand why they occurred in order to prevent any future disruptions. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
A Message from Our President/CEO, Danny Nichols
My fellow Colquitt EMC Members,
We are aware of the problems occurring in Northern Lowndes County with your electric service. These problems are occurring to the flow of power prior to being received by Colquitt EMC. We are speaking with both Georgia Power Company and Georgia Transmission Corporation. These two companies operate the high voltage transmission lines that serve electricity to us all. I can assure you all that can be done to find the cause of these problems is currently being done.
In times such as these, rumors and unfounded speculations abound. Colquitt EMC is not selling out to any other power company in the state. We enjoy our jobs and appreciate our members as well.
