Katherine Ann Russell Awarded Scholarship

Katherine Ann Russell, a graduating senior from Colquitt County High School, was recently awarded a scholarship in honor of Walter Harrison, a pioneer in the rural electricity movement and a leader at the local, state and national levels in electric cooperative programs. The $1,000 scholarship is designed to recognize students who demonstrate academic merit and talent and a commitment to community service. It can be applied to any accredited two or four-year university college or vocational-technical in Georgia.

Gavin Faucette Selected for Washington Youth Tour

Gavin Faucette has been selected to represent Colquitt EMC in Washington D.C. this summer. He will be attending the 2014 Washington Youth Tour, a leadership program designed to teach students about the importance of civic leadership and service and sponsored by 38 of the electric membership corporations in Georgia, including Colquitt EMC. The event is set for June 12-19. Gavin attends Valwood School.

Hannah Rucker Selected for Washington Youth Tour

Hannah Rucker has been selected to represent Colquitt EMC in Washington D.C. this summer. Quitman Office Remodel Complete

Our office in Quitman located at 11846 Highway 84E has recently been remodeled. The location not only provides customer service to our Brooks County members but also houses our maintenance employees. The office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and an after-hours drop-box for checks or money orders with your payment stub.

McKenzie Ogg Wins EMC sponsored Wiring Competition

McKenzie Ogg, a Brooks County High School student,won 2nd place at the area 5 EMC sponsored Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event. The contest provides opportunities for FFA members to demonstrate their skills in electrical wiring, critical thinking and communication. McKenzie will be awarded a scholarship and will be eligible to compete at the State contest. Her advisor is Dave Bearden.

Ben Herring Wins EMC sponsored Wiring Competition

Ben Herring, a Lowndes County High School student,won 2nd place at the area 6 EMC sponsored Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event. The contest provides opportunities for FFA members to demonstrate their skills in electrical wiring, critical thinking and communication. Ben will be awarded a scholarship and will be eligible to compete at the State contest. His advisor is Quinton Hadsock.
